Just when the New Year fireworks are over, we start 2017 with a bang. Visa is going to be a major partner for our 2017 campaign. At SK Gaming, we are more than proud that Visa chose us to enter the eSports market. „This partnership is truly a historic step for SK Gaming. For us this is a great start into 2017 and proves that all the hard work our players put in is getting recognized beyond just the gaming world“, says Managing Director Alexander T. Müller.
Teaming up with SK Gaming is the second recent venture into a new business for Visa, after partnering up with electronic racing series Formula E. „With the Formula E and now eSports, Visa has shown that they are committed to support the sports of the future. I am looking forward to some amazing events for our fans in the upcoming months and I am sure the new season will be even more successful than the last one“, says Müller.
Visa’s Executive Director of Marketing, Gary Twelvetree, points out, that their innovative endeavors into eSports and the Formula E are no short term adventures: „Pro gaming has changed the way we see sport in recent years, opening access to people the world over and creating a surge in its popularity. We see huge potential for the industry and this deal sees Visa ideally placed to harness and drive that.
